The on-screen keyboard above mirrors the standard Preeti-based Nepali typing layout used across Nepal for two decades, with the same key positions carried into Unicode mode. Nepali Joint Letters
Joint letters (conjuncts) like क्ष and त्र combine two or more consonants into a single shape. The Joint Letters group in the Character Palette gives one-click access to the most common ones: क्ष, त्र, ज्ञ, श्र, क्र, प्र, ब्र, ग्र, द्र and स्त्र. You can also type any conjunct directly using the halant key once you know the layout.
